March 2019 Market Watch

Data from the Toronto Real Estate Board reported 7,187 homes sold in March, just 1 sale less than reported in March 2018 (7,188), indicating a flat market.  Sales were not flat across all the GTA.  Sales in the suburbs were up by 5% while sales in Toronto were down by 9%.  The year-over-year drop in sales in Toronto could be blamed on the condo market which had sales drop 14%. March new listings were down by 5.1% year-over-year.

The average price for March sales was up by 0.5% to $788,335.  The average selling price for Q1 2019 was up by 1.1% year-over-year.  The inventory is limited.
