January 2019 Market Watch

Data from the Toronto Real Estate Board shows that the number of new listings increased by 22 (4,099 to 3,987) over January 2018.  The stronger sales performed shifted from the city to the suburbs.  The city of Toronto saw sales drop 6% YOY, and the rest of TREB saw sales increase by 3.5%.

The average selling price of a home was up by 1.7% to $748,328, however, this gain was not realized by all regions and housing types.  The average price of a detached home fell 3% YoY, with Toronto leading the way with a 9% drop.  The average price of a condo was up 8%, although Halton condo prices fell by 1%.
